Project Description
A prototyping platform for the next generation of spatial design.
The lines between the physical and digital world continue blurring every day – we believe in a future in which these lines don’t exist anymore – where people, devices and environments are seamlessly connected throughout space.
Prognosis reframes our practice and puts users back at the center of design. It provides a virtual environment- where physical and digital spaces can be prototyped together and tested with real people – we call this spatial design and helps us obtain valuable user data that better informs our iterative process.
Here is an example of how it works
For a retail client looking at ways to increase their store performance. Our design team re-evaluates existing paradigms, defining a journey that engages customers with a unique and personalized brand experience, that crosses the barriers of the physical store.
We create a 3D model of the new design, and we utilize game engines to embed digital interactions, IoT environments, and data analytics. Then Clients, Designers and Real Customers are invited to experience the space and provide feedback.
Once inside the simulation – users are given prompts with specific instructions they must follow. Such as vocalizing their thoughts or completing a task. This store uses digital technologies to eliminate checkout lines and replaces floor merchandise to give a unique showroom-like experience throughout the space.
Everything in this space is designed to connect seamlessly with digital solutions. And as you are about to see, it allows us to propose solutions that cross the barriers of the physical world and entering the realm of designing for the non-tangible.
Designers and clients can observe how the participants are interacting with the space. They document their perceptions, behaviours, and pain points throughout the experience. Similarly, the platform applies strong data collecting technologies, from recording user flows, analysing where the users are looking to detect any blind spots in their journey, measuring the time it takes to complete each task, and even collecting user’s well-being in real time.
To summarize, prognosis provides a simulation platform to test human interactions of any kind.
It expands our capabilities as a data-first company, it makes us pioneers in usability testing for mixed environments, and provides our clients with future-proof answers right from the start… With Prognosis we are better suited to position ourselves as leaders in the coming revolution of spatial design.
