Mockingbird Station
Urban Chic, Mixed-Use Village
Located four miles north of downtown Dallas, Mockingbird Station is an urban-chic, mixed-use village. CallisonRTKL was commissioned to complete the planning and architecture for this first-of-its-kind property in Texas, specifically designed and built for a light-rail train station via a pedestrian bridge.
The community includes 211 upscale loft residences, 140,000 SF of office space, and 180,000 SF of space for retail, an eight-screen cinema, and restaurants, parking and an enclosed public plaza, all linked to the station.
CRTKL was later commissioned a second time to update the landscape and shared public spaces. A native palette of plants and warm, rustic materials adorn the streetscape and tie together the project’s existing character and local surroundings. A human-centric design greets visitors with an arrival court, outdoor dining options, an updated parking garage and more pedestrian-focused gathering spaces. CRTKL’s updates make residents and visitors feel at home in the multipurpose neighborhood.
