CallisonRTKL has helped create the Clinical Performance Lab for the Seattle University College of Nursing. Unlike any other teaching facility in the country, this nursing laboratory reflects a changing paradigm in the role and importance of nurses to the future of healthcare. The facility simulates real-world clinical experiences that catalyze a seamless transition to practice for 400 students. With designs based on 18 months of research, the lab reflects the university’s vision for high-reliability care with spaces that adapt to multiple teaching models. Within a year of opening its doors, the lab became a nationwide model for nursing education.
