The Shops at Willow Bend

CallisonRTKL’s design for the mall’s redevelopment adds more than 100,000-SF of retail/restaurant space, 175 hotel rooms, and up to 200,000-SF of Class-A office space, with possible restaurant and salon amenities on the west side of the mall, all of which will increase sustainable, daily pedestrian traffic. The mall is also being re-oriented to show a more visible, dining-focused front entrance to the adjacent, heavily trafficked Dallas North Tollway.

The contemporary design and building materials are regionally authentic, creating a comfortable, approachable atmosphere to appeal to the local community; all part of a design concept CRTKL coined as “Texas Cool.” The trellis design defines the area, provides welcomed shade and cascades downward to present a branded façade with tollway visibility. The adaptable design allows the center to play host to street fairs, public events and concerts, while the second-story terrace creates a cityscape of outdoor patios and entertainment spaces with birds-eye views of pedestrian traffic below.
