Victory Block G

When it came time to design Block G of the Victory Park master plan, one of the development’s assets was also one of its biggest challenges: the nine-plex cinema atop a six-level parking structure offered downtown skyline views via a huge glass façade in the lobby, but posed access, parking and security challenges for the adjacent residential tower.

CallisonRTKL’s design solution was to break down the scale of the project into three sections, maintaining a pedestrian scale and, in doing so, creating a pool terrace fronting a park with downtown views. With the City of Dallas’ green design standards in mind, the parking requirement was reduced by 60 spaces due to proximity to light rail transit, and a bike shop open to the public faces the street.

The View

Designed to cater to its younger, more modern demographic, The View, a 17 story, 257 unit residential tower in Arlington, VA, has a contemporary design with the latest technology and offers unmatched amenities for its residents.

The View is part of Liberty Center South, a 2.25 million-SF mixed-use development located at the edge of Ballston’s urban core that serves as a world-class gateway into the district. This LEED Silver residential building includes Nest technology thermostats and the highest-quality finishes in each unit. Rooftop plunge pools and a fully equipped club room offer unrivaled views of Washington, DC monuments. The base of The View includes 9,000 SF of retail space, restaurants and ample outdoor seating. This combination of high-end destination retail and an adjacent park will create a sense of place for its residents in one of the most sought-after, transit-oriented, high-tech markets in the United States.

The Alexan

As downtown Los Angeles continues its renaissance and new development attracts further interest and investment, CallisonRTKL was commissioned to contribute to the positive momentum with its design for the Alexan, a 26-story, 305-unit residential tower catering to sophisticated, but community-minded, residents.

Figueroa Centre

Challenged to create a world-class, urban development that reflects the pulse of Los Angeles’ emerging downtown, CallisonRTKL designed Figueroa Centre as a mixed-use development that blends over 90,000 SF of retail and food & beverage space, 22,000 SF of event space, over 40,000 SF of open space, with a 220-key 5-star hotel and 200 branded premium residential units into an artfully stacked vertical environment.

A new thread in the city’s urban fabric, Figueroa Centre promotes the city’s goals of increasing hotel room supply to support the Convention Center. Five floors of retail, food and beverage and conference facilities act as the project’s face on Figueroa Street, creating an active front door and streetscape. Upon completion, Figueroa Centre will feature the tallest residential tower in downtown Los Angeles. The units are located in a separate stack with dedicated elevators opening directly into each residence.

2929 Weslayan

The grace and allure of the River Oaks neighborhood influenced the form of this 40-story, 254-unit residential tower: flowing, sophisticated lines created by sculpted balconies complement an efficient core, structure and interior layout.

The team took a hospitality design approach to public spaces, employing a rich stone and wood palette and a feature 20-foot wall fountain in the lobby in addition to a resort-inspired pool, fitness center and lounge on an eighth-floor landscaped terrace. Signature retail and dining round out amenity offerings. Designed as a sustainable option within Houston’s luxury housing market, tactics like rain water harvesting, performance-based energy modeling and a green housekeeping program positioned 2929 Weslayan to achieve LEED Silver certification.

Oceanwide Plaza

Central to the South Park neighborhood and the Los Angeles Sports and Entertainment District, Oceanwide Plaza changes the face of downtown from an in-and-out destination to a place to dwell.

As the luxury residential component of CallisonRTKL’s Los Angeles Sports and Entertainment District master plan, Oceanwide Plaza offers unparalleled amenities and a mix of uses including retail and dining. Located across from the Staples Center, its three high-rise towers (two at 40-stories high and the third at 49-stories) sit on a 200,000-SF retail podium surrounded by a large lawn, children’s playground, barbecues, a pool and a running track. In addition to its 504 condominiums, it will house a 183-key hotel and event spaces.
